Full or Part Time Status

Donna Dannar 4/8/09 Web IEP currently does not require that full or part time status be indicated on PK students that are support services (i.e.speech, OT, PT) only, yet it is still required in IMS. Shouldn't it be marked on the IEP, and what should be entered in IMS for support services only students - full or part time?

Dee Gethmann 4/8/09 Full and part time status is in reference to instructional services. The amount of time required to meet a preschool child's age appropriate educational needs is calculated to arrive at a weighted factor. The weighted factor shall be determined as follows: • Full-time ECSE instructional services shall include 20 hours or more of instruction per week. These students are given a weighted factor based upon the present weightedness for the appropriate level of service the child is receiving. • Part-time ECSE instructional services shall include up to 20 hours of instruction per week. These students are given a weighted factor based upon one half of the present weightedness for the appropriate level of service the child is receiving.
Donna Dannar 4/8/09 So no full or part time status needs to be indicated on the IEP for any support service only student or just for PK support only students? And, since IMS requires the full or part time field be populated, does it matter what's entered?
