Clarification on Count Day
A question has come up about what Count Day actually means. Count Day this year is Friday, October 26. |
We have a report that at least one AEA says all paperwork has to be in the hands of the IMS data entry personnel by the end of the day on Count Day. That is not true! |
Here are the instructions for Count, which have remained consistent for a number of years: |

In other words, Count Day is about a child’s eligibility and the meeting date, not about when data have to be physically entered into IMS or when the paperwork needs to be in the hands of the data entry personnel. |
