Do IEPs Need to be Implemented Prior to the Release of Iowa IDEA 2013?
The following information was sent to the web IEP administrators via e-mail on February 15, 2013:
Recently the Center was asked if IEPs need to be implemented prior to the release of Iowa IDEA 2013. The short answer to this question is “yes”. (For more information, refer to www.iowaideainfo.org; Section: 2013 Release and Beyond: General; CPC staff, have you thought about...) |
During further conversation at the Center about this topic, Ben explained that anything which is opened in the current Iowa IDEA will not be moved over to the new system. This would include an IEP that:
|
In other words, if a student is one of the categories above by the last weekend in June, the student’s name will not appear on the Student List for service providers and the new IMS will state “This child has no current plans”. So, it is imperative that all IEPs are Implemented and no IEPs are open by the last weekend in June. |
New Report In order to assist you with the identification of IEPs that need to be implemented or addressed before the last weekend in June so that you may follow up with the appropriate service provider, the Center has created a report. Please see the attached report template. |
What You Can Expect from the Center The Center will send the report for your AEA to you, the web IEP administrator, on the following days:
|
As you can see, the report will be sent to you every other week initially and weekly as we get closer to the end of the school year and July 1. |
In addition, if a child has an AEA of 00 or 99 and is somehow connected to your AEA (e.g. attending or resident), information on that record will be sent to you for your follow up. |
If any web IEP administrator or data entry person has any questions about this content, please contact either Lisa or Michelle. |
